We don’t do disposable, and all of the products that we manufacture – including our custom backpacks – can be reused over 5,000 times and avoid single-use plastic production, consumption and pollution with every reuse. Our factory in Pondicherry, South India prints your personalized backpacks using eco-friendly and REACH compliant inks. We are also delighted to stock Global Recycling Standard certified canvas options for your backpacks, as well as organic cotton options. Natural fabrics are derived from natural, biodegradable and renewable fibres that are grown in a field, not produced in a science lab. At the end of their useful life, natural fibres react with the elements and break down and return to nature, instead of festering in landfill for centuries. Every time your backpacks are reused, they avoid single-use plastic production and pollution. Choose sea freight for your delivery method and reduce your carbon footprint.

The wellness and wellbeing of our members of staff is very important to us. Over 20 years ago, we set up our own factory in Pondicherry, South India. One of the main reasons we decided to do this was so that we could monitor the supply chain and make sure that we are adhering to our own codes of ethics surrounding fair treatment of the environment and our staff. Our in house label, Bags of Ethics is centred on respect for the people and the planet that make the product possible. We ensure the fair treatment, fair payment and occupational health and safety of our Indian team at all times. 9/10 of our team of stitchers in India is female, and many of the wonderful women who will sew your custom backpacks are breadwinners in their families. We are also proud to stock Fairtrade cotton options for our backpacks, tote bags, aprons and tea towels, so that you can guarantee that those working in the supply chain of your cotton fabric were paid fairly for their work.
