As pioneers in the reusable bag movement, we’ve come a long way in changing customer mindset and reducing single use plastic, but there’s still so much more work to do.
Just as we take resources from nature, we believe it is also our responsibility to give back to nature in order to create a cyclical and sustainable environment.
We believe in beautiful design so that items will be treasured, crafted so that products are made to last, so that waste is minimised and end of life disposal is considered.
Bags of Ethics proudly boasts an 80% female workforce, with over 70% of leadership roles being held by women. And that goes right to the top with our CEO, Smruti Sriram who uses her influential voice to educate, empower and inspire other business and individuals to adopt more sustainable practices.
We help large charities and organisations as well as individuals in our communities, both in the UK and at our factory in Pondicherry. This could be anything from supporting food banks and creating educational opportunities to support orphans, blind children, elderly and the disabled.
At Bags of Ethics, we are honoured to have a wonderfully diverse workforce with 15 different languages spoken. It’s probably why we’ve been successful when working with companies from all over the world. We love celebrating diversity and our differences.
We treat our waste water to ensure it’s safe to release back into the environment.
We only use 100% non-polluting inks
and dyes.
Fundraising partnerships with charitable organisations.
Charitable action and donations in local communities.
All of our products are produced in our wholly-owned factory in Pondicherry, India. Not only does this allow us to regulate the practices, such as waste disposal and ethically sourced materials, but it also allows us to create a positive impact in the community through hiring and training our 80% female workforce.
That’s why we’re constantly investing in technology and seeking out the latest information about printing techniques and material processes. We want to make sure that we can upcycle every last waste scrap, and develop techniques to work with the most sustainable materials, whether we’re creating reusable bags, leather goods or metal and ceramic cups and bottles.
